The Melexis MLX81107 LIN slave provides a single chip solution for different IO extension applications.
All necessary components like physical layer LIN transceiver, LIN controller, voltage regulator, and 16-bit RISC-based microcontroller, as well as supporting functions like ADC, 16-bit PWM, constant current high voltage capable IOs are integrated into the chip.
It also includes the possibility for LIN auto-configuration and can thus be used for other applications requiring a low pin count fully integrated LIN slave. The LIN protocol handler meets all LIN standards including LIN2.x, as well as SAE J2602.
MLX81107 offers more flexibility due to the higher pin count making 8 additional 5V IOs available. They can be used as analog inputs, all are connected to the ADC multiplexer, or as digital outputs.
The PWM block outputs can be routed to the LV IO’s as well.
Further they support the connection of the internal SPI, what allows to connect to any other controller and smart sensors supporting this standard interface.
To support a high thermal performance by keeping the low cost target, the MLX81107 is offered in a QFN 5x5 package.
