The MLX90323 is a sensor interface IC with 4mA to 20mA current loop output for sensors wired in bridge or differential configurations. The IC converts small changes of output voltage of full Wheatstone resistive bridge (caused by mechanical stimulus such as pressure, force, torque, light or magnetic field) to large changes of the IC output current.
The signal conditioning includes gain adjustment, offset control, high order temperature and linearity compensation. Temperature can be measured either by internal or external (resistor) temperature sensor. Compensation values are stored in Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) and are re-programmable. Programming is accomplished by using a PC with an interface circuit (level shifting and glue logic) and provided software.
The MLX90323 works properly over wide voltage range from 6V to 35 V at the signal line.
