 The MLX90290 is a SMD factory programmed very fast lineal Hall sensor IC with a ratio-metric analog output. Target applications are small stroke rotary, linear position sensor, AC and DC current sense applications and brushless DC motor commutation. The linear Hall-Effect sensor IC is compatible with circuits operating at 3.3VDC and 5VDC bias. Thermal compensation is available for position measurements with most common permanent magnets, such as AlNoCo, NeFeB and Ferrite. In current sensing applications, a version is available for 0ppm/°C. Several typical absolute sensitivities are available "off-the-shelf". High volume applications may be deemed suitable for a customized version. Here, filtering, sensitivity and thermal sensitivity drift may be fully optimized by consulting Melexis' sales team. The MLX90290 is offered in an industry standard 3-pin SIP (UA) package or a 3-pin SOT (TSOT23) package. The standard 3-pin SIP with 1.27mm pin-to-pin spacing is the norm or alternatively a 2.54mm pin-to-pin spacing, lead-formed version can be specified.
