 The MLX91204 is a monolithic Triaxis® Resolver reporting fast analog sine and cosine Signals for the inplane components (Bx and By) of the Magnetic Flux density from a magnet rotating above the device Surface (End-of-Shaft magnet). The in-plane components are measured thanks to the Integrated Megneto-Concentrator (IMC®) places above a constellation of Hall-Effect sensitive spots (Hall plates). The absolute angular Position of the magnet can be derived from the sine and sosine Signals through appropriate off-chip Signal processing (Resolver-to-Digital converter).
The high-bandwidth of the MLX91204 makes it very suitable for Motor Position sensor typically required in advanced commutation techniques (e.g. Field-Oriented-Commutation...).
The sensitivity is factory-programmed and several versions are available. The MLX91204 has a very stable thermal compensation for both the sensitivity and the Voq over a broad temperature range.
