M.2 is a newer form factor for SATA storage devices. Available in different dimensions (22x42mm and 22x80mm), a flexible usage is possible depending on space and needed memory capacity.

CFast
CFast cards are the next step following the well-known CompactFlash standard. But instead of using IDE/ATA speeds, they provide full SATA speed, while keeping the established dimensions.

CFexpres
CFExpress is the newest solution supported by Compact Flash Association. They are designed to provide NVMe speeds, while still being a flexible, removable device in reasonable dimensions.
