THE PROBLEM

Industrial equipment is designed for durability. But the flash storage market is developing rapidly. When SLC products with small capacities disappear, industrial developers and buyers face concrete challenges.
Capacity minimum limit
3D-NAND pSLC starts at 16 GB. Systems that are designed to be 128 MB to 2 GB will have unnecessarily much unused storage – with an impact on partitioning, firmware and BIOS.
Qualifications & Certification
Industrial certifications (IEC, DO-160, MIL-STD) must be re-run for new components. New storage technologies require extensive testing and documentation.
